Paracetamol, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, and Chlorpheniramine Maleate Oral Suspension come with the brand name “KOLDBAY” and are used to treat the common cold and all types of allergic rhinitis. The common cold is an illness that affects the throat and nose and is attributable to viruses. It is mostly caused by viruses referred to as “rhinoviruses”. It is contracted by infected drops that get into the mouth, nose or eyes and is transferred by talking, sneezing, or even by just having normal conversations. These illnesses are triggered by allergens that cause histamine to be released in the blood, which can lead to a congested/ runny/stinging & itchy nose/throat, sneezing, etc.
Paracetamol, Phenylephrine Hydrochloride, and Chlorpheniramine Maleate Oral Suspension is a combination of five drugs, namely: Pharmacopoeal composition of the preparation consists of paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride, chlorpheniramine maleate, sodium citrate, and menthol. Paracetamol THC increases the onset and duration of pain and thermal thresholds through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Phenylephrine hydrochloride helps to narrow and constrict the blood vessels. Chlorpheniramine maleate helps to prevent the histamine from exercising its effect because it stops histamine from working.
